The LahainaTown Action Committee, in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development will host their next Kōkua for Maui Shop Local and Show Aloha event on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa. This special event brings together the community and visitors in support of Lahaina’s resilient local businesses.
“Kōkua for Maui is about more than just shopping—it’s about coming together as a community to show our support for local businesses that are the heart and soul of West Maui,” said Sne Patel, President of LahainaTown Action Committee. “We encourage everyone to join us for a fun day in Kāʻanapali while helping our beloved businesses thrive.”
Tambara Garrick, LAC Board Treasurer and one of the event organizers said, “This event is a testament to the resilience and strength of our community. By shopping local, you’re not only supporting small businesses but also helping to preserve the unique character and spirit of Lahaina.”
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and admission is free. Valet parking is available for $20, and self-parking validation is $1 per every 3 hours at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their family and friends in support of local makers and entrepreneurs. Live music throughout the event will be provided by Kaleo Phillips & Larry Golis.
