Dr. Aaron J. Salā appointed President & CEO of the Hawaiʻi Visitors & Convention Bureau : Maui Now

Dr. Aaron J. Salā was selected as the Hawai‘i Visitors & Convention Bureau’s new President and CEO, effective Sept. 1.
“Aaron brings extensive experience as a highly accomplished leader and cultural advisor, whose impactful, innovative work in Hawai‘i’s visitor industry and beyond has no bounds,” according to a Hawai‘i Tourism Authority announcement.
Most recently, he championed the 13th Festival of Pacific Arts and Culture hosting fellow Pacific Island delegations in June and served as the cultural creative producer for ‘Auana, Hawai‘i’s upcoming Cirque du Soleil residency.
He has worked as a music director and arranger for several Disney projects, including Aulani and the production of Moana in ‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i. He also served as the director of cultural affairs at Royal Hawaiian Center at Helumoa.
Salā also served on the HTA Board of Directors from 2011 to 2015 including a stint as Board Chair.
“Aaron’s steadfast commitment to our communities on each island will be vital in ensuring that visitors benefit our people, places and living cultures, supporting our collective efforts toward Hawai‘i’s regenerative tourism future. As our esteemed partner at the helm of HVCB, we wish Aaron much success ahead,” according to the HTA announcement.
